Which is the male face, and which the female?
Actually, this picture is a computer generated composite of male and female features. What tricks us into allocating gender is contrast. The face on the left, with softer contrast, is perceived as female; the face on the right, with a higher contrast level, is seen as male.
Some things are hard-wired into our brains. Sex determination is a major discrimation we need (you don't wanna hit on the wrong sex, whatever your leanings are!)
